The collection includes 14 photographs and stereocards by Charles Bierstadt and W. Kurtz depicting Albert Bierstadt's Hudson River home and studio, Malkasten; his wife, Rosalie Osborne Bierstadt; Fitz Hugh Ludlow, his associate and Rosalie's first husband; and an unidentified house. Also included is a scrapbook containing notes, clippings, brochures, and ephemera on Albert Bierstadt, as well as essays on his life by niece Rosalie Osborne Mayer, who appears to have compiled the volume.
